Experience and "Build Order"

So I've been playing in a rather recreational manner so far, mostly against AI but online with a few SupCom acquaintances... I always notice that the opposing players level up incredibly quickly - some can be at level 20 while I'm still around 13. Any thoughts on my level struggles?



Also, is there any one purchase or other that you ALWAYS make at the beginning of the game, akin to a FA build order? I play Oak mostly, some Regulus, if that helps.|||If your playing vs humans and they are outleveling you like that it means your getting early priests, which just give your enemy a ton of free exp and gold.



If your playings agaisnt A.I and they are outlevelling you, its because Nightmare A.I cheats and gets extra exp/gold etc.|||My first purchase is almost always different. A lot of times I'll wait and save up for a mana hat or maybe armor right off the back. Other times I'll grab the cheap mana hat and the cheap armor. Or just the speed boots. Or I might just grab a tele scroll and a hp pot and save the rest. Just depends on which DG I am and how I'm feeling like playing.



As far as xp goes, people tend to farm creeps to level up fast. Sometimes you'll get lucky and no one bothers you so you can just sit there killing bunches of creeps while everyone else dukes it out. Other times you might get a lucky kill or a few kills which boosts your level. Also constant flag capping gives you abit of xp. It's also possible that people will invest in the +10% xp favor item and the +% xp citadel upgrades.



If you notice that you get extremely out leveled, just try to farm creeps and stay away from other DGs for awhile until you get back on the playing field.|||AgentSmith16|||Farming creeps means just killing reinforcements, correct?|||AgentSmith16|||Makes some sense. I can't decide who I like more - Sedna, Oak, or Regulus. D=|||Can't stand Regulus, he's so boring to play compared to the others (bar UB who IS the most boring to play).



Personally I like Oak then Sedna then Torch Bearer. Rook can be fun but is hard to play well. I don't like Queen of Thorns or Vampire much either. They just don't suit my style.|||JWest
