I just bought and installed this game today. It runs fine with all the settings on high.
These are my specs:
CPU Core2 Quad Core Q6600
RAM 2 gigs DDR2
Video Card - NVIDIA GEForce 8600 GT w/ april 2nd drivers
Running Windows XP PRO
I'm only playing single player at the moment, and this occurs during the game. It happens anywhere between ten minutes to a few hours after playing. It's happened three times now, and has happened more often the more I've been playing. Right now it happens right after I start playing a match, but only in the game. It never happens in the menus.
Small vertical lines appear across my screen and my whole computer locks up. The lines look almost like a cheesy rip off of the Left4Dead film grain.
I'm tending towards more of this being a heat issue, but I experienced the same exact problem with SupCom:FA as detailed in the post below.

Whats unusual is I installed the most current drivers for my game today.
Anyone had this problem, or know a fix?|||I have a similar computer setup to yours and I began experiencing similar problems recently. I first experienced the game freezing up around 45 minutes in against AI opponents (no problems online). Then I started getting blue spots all over the screen along with my whole computer freezing up. That was followed by only being able to boot the computer in safe mode with nice vertical blue lines ruining the view. In my case it turned out to be the computer showing signs of impending failure and eventually failing. It now shuts down before it finishes booting up. I'm troubleshooting one component at a time. When I figure it out I'll post what my source of problems was. Hopefully yours is not so bad. I've tried swapping video cards, ram and power supplies. I'll be trying a mobo today. It better do the trick.
An 8800GTS and XP home are the only differences between your rig and mine. I had been running the game on it without issues at max settings for the past year and a half. My laptop has been running SupCom, in slow motion but without issue, since vanilla was released.|||Whats really unusual is now the game isn't crashing, after I updated everything I could think of. I read my monitor doesn't like games in 1650x1080 and dropped it down to 16:9.
Whats even more unusual is that when I take a screen shot of the strange lines, it does not show them at all.
I'm doing my research about this, but so far I'm coming up short on details.|||ProximityFixed|||That's what I'm thinking. Could my monitor be overheating? It can't be a heat issue, because Crysis eats up three times as much of my resources as this game and it never once happened to that game.
I'll try another cable before I pull my warantee papers out.|||It's fixed once I restart, it's just annoying and getting in the way of going online.|||Mocafrost:
Someone at Stardock is on my case, I just gave them my dxdiag and a log from some program he had me download. Hopefully I will be able to post a fix for us soon.|||ProximityFixed
