Mana drain

What's the best option if im up against an ability heavy opponent and want to drain his mana?

ive tried warlords punisher, and its nice but it doesnt seem to bother them that much|||spam cheap healing items until they run out of mana?|||Which demigod are you using, which opponent specifically and at what level of the game (1-20)?|||Im erebus , thought of it when i was facing a sedna...

dunno what lvls, is it possible for all?... is it possible to have a good deny-opponent-ability-build at all XD|||Not really; you can inconvenience them but not deny them the ability to use their abilities completely; just make it harder for them to use them properly.

It's deliberately impossible to just 'shut down' an enemy Demigod like that.|||In the original phase of the game (level 1 through 6), the only way you can drain the AI's mana is by letting it hit you with abilities (which sucks, but Erebus recovers quite well initially). Once it runs out, the AI will usually port back to its base when at half its health. Afterwards, it becomes harder and harder for it (and you) to run out of mana with basic gear.

Something I discovered while playing at nightmare difficulty levels though: starting from level 12 and up, do not ever let the enemy control the artifact shop. Controlling it is more important than controlling portals. The AI will use its money to buy great gear and then its a slow drop down in hell if you can't do the same.

An artifact equipped Sedna is downright invincible. I had a level 20 Oak with 3 artifact gear hitting her with everything I had and I could not lower her health.|||Artifacts are deadly; control of the artifact shop is vital in any long running game.
