I can't find a hard copy of the game anywhere and I was thinking of buying the digital download. I have questions, however:
1 - how big is it?
2 - once downloaded, can the files be (somehow) burned on a dvd?
I don't mind saving my own copy, but I have a download limit per month and it's not something that I'd like to repeat in the future.
Thanks for any information that you can give me.|||1) 2.82 GB, but the compressed download archive only has 1.89 GB, iirc
2) yes, but the current archiving mechanism binds it to your OS
3) if you want to avoid downloading it over and over again (e.g. to install it also on another machine, but still using your Impulse account), I was advised to use this service: http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/ . There you can download an "offline installation" for your registered products.|||yeah, Impulse Anywhere is great; that is how i am getting (present tense, *sigh*) my copy.|||Downloading now. For a moment, I was afraid that the download size was the same as the minimum system requirements (8 gigs, yikes!). 2 gigs is manageable now and I'm downloading it from Impulse.
Thanks!|||Personally I liked the option of downloading + paying a few bucks more for a boxed copy. Best of both worlds :)|||dotswarlock|||Well, he did say that after the current book, there will be one more SupCom book, so you never know.
Though it would be strange because it is hard thinking of context for the battles other than that already given.|||Col. Jessep|||dotswarlock|||dotswarlock|||There's not much material, but there's a very rich universe.
Important distinction.|||PheonixIV|||Jessep said that, not me
SupCom is one of those rare gems. Demigod isn't. It could be, but im not putting any hope into that as i'll just risk getting dissapointed. In fact, i'm already getting tired of the game. It's heavily dependant of teamplay, but how do i make friends when the game doesn't even have a lobby to talk in?|||I'm curious, what separates a "lobby" from a "chat room" ?
Aside from that, the game does have a friends list included. Also, this new fangled Impulse community system is in its infancy. We didn't even get to see it till the very end of beta. Since it is meant to be the platform on which future Stardock titles run I think it's a safe bet that we're going to see it constantly improved.|||Usling2
