Demigod Preview: The Demon Assassin

[:1]Quote:|||I like. Kinda makes me want to buy DG...|||Sounds like a very interesting demigod. Can't wait for people to Shadow Swap Reguli right into the embrace of my UB.

One thing though: He needs a better name!!! :D|||More like swapping any Demigod right into 6 Regulus mines. The Demon Assassin would then be able to continuously warp attack on that low HP mine victim all the way.|||More like Oculus is going to be the FoL Demigod.|||I doubt that's the name they're giving him. Even the listed skills are probably going to be revised with better names.|||Especially since they're all direct hacks of DotA.

That being said, DotA has so many ******* abilities, I'm pretty sure they have "Shitting nuclear ponies" there somewhere.|||IsikBala|||Cool, sounds like it will be fun to play.

I ******* hate pussy *** regs|||Reg is underpowered. :P|||It looks like the Alien with a sword.|||SleepWarz|||i've given up on rational discussion on the possibilities of this DG in the SD forums. anyone here interested in discussing issues with the concept of this Demigod (not the OP possibilities but builds, limitations, support etc)?|||IsikBala|||Would work best with a UB or Rook ally.

I think the builds would go heavy on Shadow Warp, Deadly Warp, and Warp Strike. Demon's speed would be heavily featured too, but I feel that priorities would go as follows:

Shadow Warp; for better synergy with allies, and to catch enemies

Warp Strike; to get back to ganking the guy you switched with

Demon's Speed; for running around the battle faster and ganking more people

Deadly Warp; for making sure he doesn't escape.

The other abilities seem more or less pointless for a synergy team. Warp area; does that just mean he attacks everyone around? It'd be absofuckinglutely fantastic for an anti-minion build, except the amount of jumps are limited. Spine shot? You've already ganked him. Elusiveness? You generally switch spots to throw him into your allies, speaking of which:

I think you'll most likely see a DA around the following:

Rook;

Forcing a hammer slam upon an enemy is priceless. Follow it up with a powerful critical strike, and then a boulder roll, and the enemy is helpless.

UB;

Warping the enemy into the Ooze, to then be shredded by quick burst damage, followed by a stun and a quick critical strike, Foul Grasp, Spit, and Demon's speed. He's dead.

Erebus;

Teleported into 10 powerful minions and Erebus, followed by a quick critical strike, a cloud of bats, a stun, and a blood drain which includes slowing down. You;re ******.

Regulus;

He's trying to snipe, you're on the wrong side to get him closer to your side. Simple teleport him further away from the Reggy and you closer to him. Also, Gank into 6 mines, followed by long range Maiming. Dead.

I cannot see a logical reason to include Spine shot into a build (unless Shadow Gank has a rather limited range, and Spine is powerful). The best excuse I can come up with for it, is you Shadow Gank, fire it, and warp in. However, this would mean your other abilities would be weaker. :/|||Nice theorycrafting on stuff we hardly even know about.|||Best kind there is.|||IsikBala|||*blink*

I'm supposed to be good?

Huh.|||While PKC went OTT with his comments, he is right in that you failed theorycrafting in a big way. You just went "AMAGAD BUT XYZ" without considering the defensive or other support abilities offered. For example, an Oak may shield the swapped player, or a Sedna heal them. What if a Rook rolled you just after you swapped? No synergies in a big pile of you cannot do that.|||Sounds like he's being copied completely from DotA.

Except for the permanent invisibility ultimate skill.|||WNxWolfinator|||Sevenix|||Z32|||I wonder how they made the animations/bones for the tail. Can't be easy to make the movement look smooth if it is similar as in the artwork. Anyway, is there any word on when it is released?
