However, if I compare it to the average player in custom games, it lacks a little in 1v1 situations. I know it is financially unwise to put even more effort into AI development, and it would take a very long time to make a non cheating AI that performs almost as good as a human player. But there is a solution which requires only minimal development time in comparison.
A great way to solve the problem would be to give us a customizable cheating AI. Sorian did it for FA with his cheat options mod and it works like a charm IMO! Every time you feel that you need more of a challenge, you can crank the cheat values of the AI up a little and voila, you have a challenging AI again!
Why do I think that it is important to have a very hard AI when I can play online? When I'm testing a new build, I will get much more kills on the AI than I would get in a custom game, and it doesnt prepare you for online matches. An AI that would be harder to beat in a 1v1 situation would give me the chance to train a little bit offline, would hopefully increase my situational awareness (run, Jessep, RUUUN!!!) and prepare me better for the really tough opponents out there. And I know that there are a bunch of players who simply prefer to play against the AI, it would be nice if they had a real tough AI for offline skirmishes.
How should it work:
- add a new AI with the name 'Customizable Cheating AI' or something
- add an options menu somewhere where I can set my preferences:
- speed: +2%, +5%, +7%, +10%, 15%, +20% speed
- health/mana: + 5%, +10%, +15%...
- autoattack damage: +5%, +10%...
Don't be shy about the percentages, imo the AI can never be 'too tough' and I'd like one setting that you simply cannot beat in a 1v1. :)
Ideas and constructive critizism are welcome.

Conditions: Prison, Fortress, default rules.|||You were UB. Play again with Rook.|||DeadMG|||DeadMG|||Yeah. My point was that Jessep picked the most OP Demigod on the best map it could possibly be on.|||Just so nobody can say I had a lucky break or something with UB. I havent played Rook since beta 1 and actually had to read the tool tips of some of the abilities, still pretty much the same outcome:

Btw, Rook was pretty fun to play and not as slow as I thought. I even cought the UB a few times with Wand of Speed.
However, I get your point.
Think of it this way, 1.2 will have mod support, someone can just AI mod it in then.|||Z32|||Z32
