A tip. Oak is really squishy until level 5 then he is mildly squishy to about level 8-10 depending on build. After that he starts to own the field if leveled right. It also depends on whether you are going Assassin build (no minions) or Generals build (with minions
).Can't really go into more detail as there are some very good guides to Oak on the DG forums.|||Kaerar|||There is, priests cost a crap load of gold which I can better put into getting citadel upgrades and health/armour/damage items. 2700g is a crap load in the early game. If I am affluent enough I'll grab priests later in an Assassin build but for the most part minions are not needed.
However I find the minion build not only better, but deals higher damage more consistently (especially with the right items). It gets to the point that you can have your minions dealing the same damage as you pretty quickly, plus then you gain gold so fast a Mage Slayer becomes a normal item to get
Hell the best ganking team (3v3) is Regulus, Torch Bearer and Sedna (change Sedna for Oak or Unclean Beast too). They'll take care of any stray player in the early levels and are probably the best team for a quick win.
To me if I'm playing for a late game victory (often do as Oak) then it's better to save the gold from Monks and get Archers. Use them to bash the crap out of towers and kite any DG's with my teammates. I don't bother going for the early kills as I know I can't survive the battles for the most part. Just wait till I hit level 7-8 tho
