What is it with Stardock?

[:1]If you install Demigod on a different hard drive, then reinstall Windows, it's shown as corrupt, even though it isn't.

Then, I made a forum thread to complain about this, and after creating it (AND THAT GODDAMN ANNOYING REASON FOR EDITING, JEESUS) it didn't even show up.

I mean, the reason for editing box, I pointed out how pointless and annoying it was about, at Demigod's release, and whoever it was that responded to me even agreed. Gaaaaargh.|||DeadMG|||DeadMG|||i can name a million games that will stop working if you change your install of windows.|||Yes, they're written by morons.|||no, its what spooky said.|||The two are not mutually exclusive. They're like, mutually inclusive.|||why is it a game dev issue then, rather than a microsoft issue?|||And seeing as SE are the publishers, it's actually down to GPG if you really want to blame the game.

But yeah, simply copying **** from one install to another is generally a bad idea. If you don't install the game on the OS then any registry keys that it sintalls will obviously not be present.

If you want to preserve userdata, then simply install teh game then copy your old version over the top.|||Xenoc|||Ah, Sorry - misunderstood :)|||Even Steam will work after you install the Steam Service, although I really, really hate it when things like Office and Visual Studio can't be moved this way.|||When u reinstall stardock u need to change the directory of where games are to be install ( you can do this by going to install my games then the area of the hard drive or new hard drive)

After taht has been set verify installation and if there's something wrong it will fix it's self.|||That doesn't work.|||DeadMG|||Yes, I can just re-download the game. Who doesn't want to download 2GB of files when you already have them? Silly me!|||if you point it to the same area it might just redo the reg files no sure|||DeadMG|||Didn't work.|||delete all demigod files and re download|||reddev32|||no really not like we have tried anything else
