Seriously, I didn't pay $40 for a beta...

The servers are down almost every night, the games are laggy has hell even when eveyrone's ping and simspeed are fine- and that's assuming you can even connect...

I gave this game ample time, but they just can't seem to correct the problem. What the crap is wrong with this game's online system?|||I tried for 4 Hours last night to get a game

Everygame Lagged like ****

ever though all pings under 200 EU

The Servers were down Yeah thats true

Its just starting to piss me off that I can't even play online|||If the game laggs it is nothing the devs can do about. Thats the players with shitty internet connections.

You think the ping is fine because it doesnt display all the small ping spikes people have that cause the laggs.

In Supcom we dont have so much problems of that kind because we mostly play with people we know and new people are rare.

The other problems like server down, or connectivity issues are their problem. Its really a shame in which state games are released today...

Day0 patch is okay, but not this it doesnt even work 4 weeks after release ****... and most multiplayer features are not in... like no arranged team game etc...|||Especially without ren_shownetworkstats, no ejection. It's ******* hard to find and get rid of a lagger.|||Actually, the beta version was pretty stable and multiplayer worked for me. But it seems Stardock is working on some improvements again. I hope they will fix it this time and will finally bring the damn proxies online they have been talking about for weeks!|||Col. Jessep|||TBH though it has been getting much better with each patch. It just may not be fixing your specific problems just yet.

Personally, the game is soooo much better as far as joining and getting a game started. What took 30min before now takes 5 minutes or less so long as people are joining.

As far as in game lagginess, that's something GPG has to figure out mostly, but I haven't had too much of a problem with it. Then again I may not be looking at it with the same level of standard as you are.|||Actually, I did pay 40 dollars for a beta.|||I'm fairly sure lag has nothing to do with SD or GPG, seeing as Demigod is p2p.|||The very fact that it is p2p is the problem. I here tell the reason for the server downtime is that they're preparing to put all the load on the servers now rather than having a p2p system, which ought to help.|||I swear stardock just have no idea, p2p works fine in many other applications. The p2p blame is a giant cop out imo. They're just trying to hide their incompetence at networking.|||The whole reason they wanted to do the Demigod multiplayer system was so they could expand their skills and learn how to do multiplayer in the first place. I doubt they'd make the same mistake with P2P again though.|||JWest|||^^true :P|||Let's get a company that makes crapware and turn based games to do our networking layer!|||Patience is a virtue.|||PheonixIV|||BulletMagnet|||or, you hold off release forever and then go bankrupt because you can't raise the funds to complete the project at all.

it's not just about satisfaction; economics plays a huge unseen role.|||BulletMagnet|||Or you employ people that actually know what they're doing. An honest business doesn't claim to be able to do something they've had no experience with before.

If I'm building a bridge, I don't open it early because I'm running out of money.

Whatever happened to "Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state." There is no exception clause. I've been playing this game since beta1 and it was clear to everyone involved that demigod MP wasn't ready for release.|||Shit happened. They got it wrong, Frogboy has already publicly admitted that they got it wrong and they're working to fix it. What more do you want?

GPG and Stardock are only human, they make mistakes just like the rest of us.|||No they haven't. They've time and time again blamed p2p for all their problems. I do not accept the excuse. **** happens agreed, but don't pass the buck.

They simply lacked the expertise required to do the job in a timely manner. This isn't a problem specific to stardock/gpg but to the entire bloody industry.|||they openly said "we f***ed up on the P2P and netcode, it was a gross underestimate on our behalf" (paraphrased).|||So that'd be why all the ignorant morons on the stardock forums believe that p2p code is inherently inferior to server-client then? They've openly encouraged this attitude. THIS is what I dislike. I could care less about another game not living up to expectations. That's par for the course.
