The Ragequitter: A Shy Creature

So far I have played maybe 20 online games and there were 2 guys who quit early. (I'm not counting one team who gave up at a point where we already had won the game.) So I don't know what all the posts on Stardock's forum are about really.

And I can't remember that anybody was trashtalking, flaming or criticizing my playstyle, even when I played badly and died a lot. Quite the opposite, in one game on prison the opposing team always 3v1ed me all the time and I had a really tough start (so much for trying a new build).

Our Oak shielded me as often as possible, even on my way back to the citadel and saved my *** more than once. (I hate Regulus even a little bit more than Erebus... :D ). His help allowed me a comeback, I had finally enough money to buy my items and we had a very interesting game (over an hour on Prison!)

And I played a bunch of games where it was clear after a few minutes that the other team had basically a snowballs chance in hell to turn the game around and still they stuck it out till the last minute and fought as hard as humanly possible. No flames, no quitting, no trashtalking, no curses.

TL;DR: So far I had a great time online and found the Demigod community to be very fair and mature.

I think a few kind words in the game lobby, a simple 'hi everybody' and 'gl, hf' can go a far way.|||Stardock forums only exist so runoff stupidity from the internet has somewhere to collect. It's sort of like 4chans backup septic tank.|||Lucky you...

Around 80 procent of my games are lost because someone loses or just feeds the other team: like just running in and trying to hit people, sometimes they dont even try to run, and this like 10 times. Absolutely mindnumbling, when he finally quits and we get an AI it usually does better since it doesnt blindly attack the enemy team.

Im not against noobs, but I hate these people that just say NOTHING do stupid things repeaditly OVER and OVER again. If they just told that they sucked, maybe we could give them tips and improve their gameplay.|||It's really quite an amazement that they would have a game revolving around team-based gameplay, but without any sort of party-matching system in place.|||FunkOff|||Party matchmaking would be great! Frogboy posted a few days ago that they are working on improving the friend support features so you can invite friends to a game or easily add good players to your friends list after a nice match. He said he would llike to implement the feature within the next 30 days. It's a huge step in the right direction. But a team centric game like Demiogd needs real team match making too.

Lifecatana, sorry to hear you had so little luck in finding good games so far. If you see Spooky or me online give us a shout. I can't garantee that I won't make mistakes but I think I'm doing okay so far. :)|||Z32|||RapierX|||_PINK|||It works though. Stacking maybe wrong in the eyes of some people, but when the PUG's are so bad playing with your mates (keep it clean...) is the only real solution. Usually ends in one or two raging though and you win pretty easily.

Though there have been occasions where we were beaten fair and square and those are the ones we learnt the most from (after we got over our bruised ego's ;) )|||Thanks Collonel! Aceepted your friend invite.

I do feel bad for some noobs, but the problem is that if they die they ruin it for me, since the enemy UB suddenly got a mageslayer and now has some sick dps which kills me in 10 secs or something. I agree with DeadMG killing should give FAR less gold.

ALso, why do these noob join good player only matches seriously? I'm regurly joing pro only matches simply because they're so many people that think they're so good after pounding some noobs.

Also this:

While I have no problem with new players on my team as long as they tell me they're new, I have to agree that sometimes it takes more than 3 minutes to realise your teammates don't read text chat, don't respond to tips you give them, don't know towers do damage, and don't have any common sense whatsover. I feel I have every right to call them a "noob" or an idiot if they run into groups of towers to then proceed to just stand there and die more than twice, or run into 3 enemies together all alone and feed them kills again, and again and oh look he did it again, even after I advise them against it it nicely in text chat several times.

I think even the newest of players should know that what they're doing is not a good idea after the 5th death in a row from the same cause, yet I still occasionally bump into players getting 10+ deaths to TOWERS, and just towers there's not even enemy Demigods around most of the time!

I understand there is sometimes a language barrier but that does not excuse lack of common sense.

Perhaps people should be force to complete a tournament mode before playing online (hey a guy can dream)|||Hehe, maybe you should join noob games to get better players. I joined one the other day because I wanted to play Erebus and had basically no experience with him. As it turns out the players in the 'noob' game were better than what you usually get in normal games.

First flag, two players try to gank me, I pull back a little and go to the next lane. Then one tries to draw me close to his towers while the other tries to cut me off. I barely escaped... I think I'll join normal games until I have enough experience to try anther noob game. :D

Then I get a nice kill, player leaves and we get a desync. Now I have to explain to the 3 remaining real newbies what a desync is and why it doesn't make sense to carry on with the game... :P
