Pantheon stats are JACKED?!?! And basically all stats.

So i played 5 games on pantheon the other night, winning 4 of them and losing my last one. Today comes around, go check out my stats and it only says i'm 0-1??? How the hell did it not keep track of the wins but the one loss at the end? I'm not complaining about this game, but damnit fix the damn stat website.. It's so screwed up!!! Counts random *** custom games when it feels like it, never updates what maps and demigods i use and play on anymore..

I remember when someone said Impulse's stats system is way better than what GPGnet had with SupCom. PHFFFT, this is a joke compared to the whole GPGnet system now IMO!|||Indeed, one of the reasons I don't play demigod.|||Yeah; there's plenty of potential in Impulse and since Stardock intends to make it the core of their gaming systems in the future we can expect it will improve markedly over time, but at the moment it's suffering from standard 'new software' bugsies.|||Well, some updates would be awesome. Or at least expectations on when the hell they'll start fixing this game.|||They are fixing it; right now. Go read the Developer Logs on the Demigod website.|||Soubds like another episode of "we're going to save money by releasing software before it's done" syndrome.|||apparently theres a non-beta patch suppose to come about monday... lets hope this fixes some networking issues.. because i have experienced WAYYYY too many in the past 2 days than i have yet.|||Z32|||The stats are just perfect as they are, I gained 218000000 favor points yesterday fair and square and every single one was a challenge! :P

Okay so the stats in the beta patch are a little broken atm but use the time to go out there and just enjoy the game. Play without regard to your rank or points and improve your tactics and strategies. The bug with negative favor points seems to be gone now so you can test the favor items.

Should you get the beta patch? Rule of thumb: If you can connect you dont have to, otherwise get it right now! Chances are good you will be able to play online for the first time. I can play Pantheon now and the proxies arent even up yet afaik.|||PheonixIV|||SleepWarz|||phoenix you cant have your standards like that. the product should be finished just like in other branches

the software industry should be no exception|||Vimes is random|||PheonixIV|||Debonair,

Just go the Demigod forums. Go to developer journals. There you go, information straight from Frogboy (Stardock's CEO iirc). Seriously, complain about the lag, complain the connections, complain about stats, complain about quitters, complain about imbalances (although it is stunning well balanced for a release) but please please don't complain about a lack of communication.

Having lived through the communication with FA (or lack thereof) Stardock/Frogboy's communication is stunningly good. If there is anything I must give Stardock with all this fiasco, it is that they have kept the community in the loop.

@Vid:

Sadly, what you say is true. They always patch stuff, I don't expect the game to be perfect on release. The current network/stat/Pantheon problems were caused by a myriad of issues, including pirates hitting the servers. They'll have it fixed soon. (I realize you probably know this, this is for the uninformed's benefit).|||Pretty much this. Software's far too complicated for it to work without release day bugs unless you spend a year beta testing it so that it's obsolete.|||Debonair|||DeadMG|||What I like about Frogboy is that he doesnt sugercoat the facts and hes really trying hard to get it working. It would have been better to open beta 3 up for everybody and see what happens but I guess he really didnt anticipate this many people with problems.

I am quite impressed how openly he adresses the problems and that one of the reasons I will patiently wait for further patches. The new patch didnt fix connectivity for everyone and still needs improvement but its a big step in the right direction. Hopefully the proxies will help further.

And about the stats: honestly, who gives a frack atm? There are way to many variables in skirmish or Pantheon atm for any ranking. Its funny though that only wins seem to vanish... :D|||Quote:|||DeadMG|||AdmiralZeech|||Theres a difference between buggy and incomplete though.

Face it, (i dont play Demi so I wont comment there) when FA was released without Sera awards, that was horrifically incomplete. Luckily its just a minor feature that noone cared about. But that wouldnt have flown in an environment where you cant patch. It'd be like a fighting game where theres a character in the select screen but he's unselectable because they ran out of time to implement him.

Contrast with lack of hotkey rebinding support in SC&FA. Even though it was mostly there, they didnt quite finish it and they cut it. The product still stands as complete, and they can claim the feature was cut or never intended.

Theres a difference between buggy and incomplete. Its a muddy issue in practical terms, but in terms of principle it shows a dedication to polish and craftsmanship. Theres too much shoddiness on patcheable platforms (I blame publishers, not devs though... if devs had their way usually games would be complete.)|||How about you look at games published and developed by the same company? Even Moneybuckets Blizzard and above-Jesus Valve's games have a LOT of bugs in them on release. Why don't you go demonstrate a game that is released perfectly?|||I think one thing that's being over looked here is the honesty of the publisher. Froggy has flat out said he/they were wrong. He has admitted they were unprepared for the difficulties launch would bring. He has mocked his own naivety at thinking they had it all worked out from the beta and it would be smooth sailing.

He has been 100% open about this and kept us updated daily on the progress, pitfalls, setbacks and frustrations that have arisen from this. But the thing that keeps me a committed fan(boy), is that looking at their track record, they will bust their butts till this thing is right. That's all I can ask from any group of professionals. You can bet your *** the next time Stardock launches a multiplayer centric game, there will be a proper open beta, especially since that is the one thing Brad said he would have done if he could do it all over again.. that, and not licensing outside code for the networking.. ******* raknet :x
