It seems to me that a crazy +damage Torchbearer would be much more terrifying. Three second stun, multiple slow abilities, an intrinsic slow aura, and a natural +damage ability for being in frost mode. He gets everything and more except for increased range. Has anyone tried this?|||I'd say it's a combination of his range, attack speed, and the fact that he has that snipe ability. If you up his damage like crazy, you can kill another demigod from afar pretty quick.|||By the time you have the 18k artifact though, the damage from snipe is pretty negligible. 3-4 auto attack shots will do more damage in less time t han it takes to cast snipe. The attack speed isn't anything inherent about Regulus.|||the word inherent is instinsically inherent in your posts.
anywho, it's his range and the ghost effect. The more damage reg is capable of doing before an enemy DG can hit back the bigger advantage he has. Other dgs are assisted by damage + because it makes them damage race better. Witrh reg it doesn't just help his damage racing, it susbtantially increases the amount of damage he can inflict without subjecting himself to any retaliation.
snipe is good because you practically can't run away when you're losing to a regulus, because he can activate snipe just before you enter the FoW and the shot will do some damn good damage thanks to the travel bonus. An ability that can reliably pick of a heavily damaged retreating demigod mixed with increased damage output is a potent combo.|||What I meant was that snipe can hit targets that are much farther than a normal attack, and if you combine attack speed items with attack power items, regulus can take down another demigod pretty fast at a distance.
EDIT: Z32 beat me to it
TB is tough to go all EA skills and live long enough to benefit from increased speed|||The range is basically why; Reg can hit hard at long range to bring enemy DG's to their knees before they can even get in range to retaliate. Reg is also so squishy that you want to do this; because if they do get in range he's in deep poo.|||PheonixIV|||What I want to know is why can Reg Snipe a demi without having already clicked & not having vision range?|||Mark of the Betrayer.|||Besides the range difference, TB is more mana dependent. Reg can be nasty just on auto attack. TB needs ample mana to fire off those spells.|||+Damage is the thing to aim for at the start, gives a large bonus to your snipe. Once you hit level 10 + it's barely noticable and you will come out with about 1k snipe. Better to go angel and lay off a few. Snipe is a pure finishing move for runners and assisting your team away from you.
Go damage/mana/hp, in that order with the first to being priority. Higher mana regen = perm angel form.
