Most of all though I want my minions to do what I tell them to do. The AI takes over your actions all the time. I tell my minions to attack an enemy demigod and I have to click 20-40 times literally over and over in order to make sure they do what I tell them to and don't stop and attack other things. My demigod will do what I input for him to do why can't my minions do the same,..... and then their is the pathing. What the hell is wrong with the pathing. My minions will sit there sometimes trying to move but unable to or will move extremely slow or be stuck behind some other unit and won't walk around. This makes micro management about 4 times as hard because while they are taking forever to move with the pathing you have to keep clicking or sometimes they stop so here we go with the 20-40 button clicks to make sure an action takes place. Sometimes they will do what you say the first time but more than half the time if their are enemy units you MUST give the command over and over or they will not follow through with the command or stay on target. I really think minions would be twice as powerful if you were able to control them better. In any other strategy game if I right click on something to attack it my unit will continue to attack it until it's dead. Granted in a normal strategy game if I leave a unit sitting their the AI will respond to threats but it shouldn't be responding to other threats when I give the unit a specific command. It's just horrible, does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?|||MrLebowski|||DeadMG|||2k gold is nothing compared to continuing, free units that don't take skill points to buy.
Although I definitely agree that the pathing should be fixed, Minions need to be hit with a nerf bat FIRST.|||DeadMG|||Favour idols would be epic|||Thanks buddy but minions need the opposite of a buff. I'm not sure what game you're playing but......
If the minions were the same strength as actual gate baddies, the lower tier ones, I think it'd be fine, but as it stands it takes too much fire power to take them out, and that gives the general free reign to punch you in the nuts while you deal with the minions.
And compared to the artifacts that an assassin needs to counter the minions effectively, all three sets of top tier minions are cheap as hell.
....
Idea....
The assassins don't really have "minions" if you know what I mean, they have burst damage yeah, but nothing exclusive to buy that sets them apart as do the generals and their minions. Too bad the shot didn't have a tab for similarly priced low-grade artifacts that only assassins could buy, that'd make me feel better...|||err....
H selects demigod.
M Selects minions.
N Selects Both minions and demigod.
O key puts the minions in a "follow me" stance. They will follow the demigod on their own, attack enemys on their own and hea lthe demigod whenever their heal is both avaiable and needed.
If you play with a little bit of prudence, dieing is excedingly difficult.
All assasins feature area of effeckt attacks.
The rook can hammer down any minion in one slam.
Regulus can use angelic fury to unleash aoe pain and it benefits greatly from atk speed buffs. Its probably the most mana efficient aeo damage in demigod.
Unlean beast simply has an insane attack and combined with a low level area damage proc item, he will tear through minions and creeps alike.|||Leyline|||Leyline|||At least minions are actually useful now; they should be powerful, they're one of the defining features of the General class.
Remember how they were in Beta? Yeah.|||DeadMG|||The only really successful build for Rook is Towers/alternative. You can't hit anyone with Hammer Slam, even if you Rook Roll them.|||I dunno I think hammerslam works out alright if you play with your partner well. If your partner is getting attacked you can use hammerslam to either maul the attacker or make him run in which case you can just cancel the slam and start it up again if the attacker comes back and if you're partner has a stun he can stun the attacker (assuming he's melee) while your hammer slam is coming down. Hammerslam certainly has its uses.|||MrLebowski|||DeadMG|||PheonixIV|||Yeah; Generals are too powerful personally really. There should be more focus on their miniunz.|||haha i played a game with u, fun times. and btw once again, good *** movie
|||I really wish that I could target the rook's towers. I hate that they fire independently.|||You can target with the towers. Click on them or double click to select all your towers on the screen and tell them to attack something. However, they have such short range that it's hard to get them to all attack something. But if that pesky little melee DG is trying to take down your cluster of towers, you can inflict some MASSIVE DAMAGE(hehe).Really I like the strength of the minions atm. They are really hard to kill but ummm why kill them? The general can just resummon them for an extremely cheap mana cost. Just go for the general even if you have to retreat. I almost never go for the minions first or at all. Only time I kill them is if the player left them as scouts or to attack a tower.
Controlling your minions isn't that bad, but I guess it could always be better.|||Quote:
